Sinead Murphy

Music Bio
Sinéad is a musician and performer with over 30 years in the industry (she started young). A classically trained pianist who plays and sings in a wide variety of styles (jazz, blues, country, classical, pop) she started teaching as well almost 20 years ago, beginners to senior certificate and all the grades in between, RIAM and ABRSM, including the ABRSM jazz grades.
Her style of teaching deftly weaves solid technique in with a fun approach, mixing learning to read music with playing by ear. Learn to work out any tune you’ve ever heard, play the pieces you want to play, as well as those you didn’t even know you wanted to play!
Sinéad teaches all ages, her youngest student to date was all of 3 yrs old, her oldest student was in his seventies (never too late!).
She is also experienced with all kinds of learning styles, her teaching approach is individual learner centred and she is particularly adept with neurodivergent students.
She has also taught music theory, musicianship and aural skills, taking students through RIAM and ABRSM theory grades, as well as providing grinds for Leaving Cert music (two of her students last year obtained H1s).
