Manuel Pereiras Torres
Music Education
Manuel started playing the piano at the age of five, and three years later, after passing the aptitude test, began ten years of training in the renowned Spanish classical music system. In that period, he moved to Jerez de la Frontera to continue his studies in the Conservatorio Profesional de Música Joaquín Villatoro, where he studied subjects as harmony and music analysis, along with his area of interest - jazz and flamenco. He participated in different master classes with renowned piano masters such as Beatrice Berthold and Nino Kereselidze.
He has been composing for artist and films for the last five years and is currently studying for a Creative Music Production degree in the Institute of Art, Design and Technology of Dún Laoghaire.
Performing
Manuel was part of many classical piano recitals during his formation, both as a soloist, duo performer, and accompanist. However, it was his involvement in alternative music that led him to perform all over Spain and beyond, having performed in festivals as the SXSW in Austin (Texas), Euro Sonic (Netherlands) and touring México.
Manuel currently performs with pop and rock bands, playing bass, guitar and drums along with piano.
Teaching
Teaching has become an important part of Manuel’s career; he feels that it takes as much sensibility and passion to perform, as to be able to transmit his love for music, and for his instrument.
Manuel's teaching career began in 2020, when he was chosen as a piano teacher in a public funded school in Trebujena, Spain. He has also taught many private students from all ages, backgrounds, and areas of interest.
