Lydia Ryan

Music education and performance

 

Lydia started learning to play the piano when she was 6 years old and fell in love with music, which has been her passion ever since!

 

She is currently going into her final year of Music Education at Trinity College Dublin, which is a degree in teaching Music Education and  performance. Lydia is specialising in piano teaching and performance as she really enjoys providing piano lessons to students of all ages!

Lydia has been awarded 3 Gold medals with the Royal Irish Academy of Music and won their Higher Achiever competition three years in a row. She has performed solo at the LimeTree Theatre as a result of this competition.

 

Lydia regularly performs as a pianist at weddings, receptions, dinners, hotels etc. including Falls Hotel & Spa, Ennistymon.

Teaching

 

Lydia has been teaching piano lessons for several years now to students of all levels and ages, including early years.

​

She also plays the violin, guitar and ukulele, which she  teaches lessons to students in, including group ukulele lessons at schools.

 

Lydia is currently working as a music teacher in a secondary school in Dublin. She also has much primary school teaching experience including working as a music teacher at St. Nessans N.S and St.Vincent’s N.S, as well as having worked at multiple music Summer and Easter camps for kids.

 

Lydia also currently works at The Irish Traditional Music Institute as a piano teacher. Her students have completed exams with both the Royal Irish Academy of Music and ABRSM with excellent results.
