Doireann O'Carroll

Doireann is a pianist and a multi-instrumentalist from Tralee. She has over ten years of teaching experience including working in the Royal Irish Academy of Music and more recently the MTU Cork School of Music.
She teaches piano, violin, cello, viola and harp.

Doireann O’Carroll completed her Masters in piano performance at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in June 2022 where she studied with Thérèse Fahy and Dearbhla Collins.
She has taken part in many exciting projects including the Iain Burnside project Open Your Eyes and Tell Me What You See.
Doireann performed at the Dublin Song Series with Dearbhla Collins at the Hugh Lane Gallery in 2022. She was awarded the Peter Rankin internship at the Northern Ireland Opera Festival of Voice in 2022 and 2023 where she worked closely with Simon Lepper and Ingrid Surgenor. In October 2022, Doireann was the répétiteur for Luke Byrne’s opera Bloody Murder with Opera Workshop Limerick.
Doireann won the Milne Cup and the Contemporary Music competition at the Feis Ceoil in March 2023. She performed with Brenda Hurley for the Opera Scenes concerts in the Royal Irish Academy of Music Whyte Hall in April 2023 and 2024.
Doireann was a répétiteur at the Vienna Opera Academy in summer of 2023. While in Vienna she performed in two concerts at the Mozarthaus. Doireann was the répétiteur for Stephen McNeff’s world premiere of Spirits Unsurrendered under the baton of David Brophy and performed at Kilmainham Gaol in November 2023. Doireann has performed in concerts with Blackwater Valley Opera Festival since December 2023 and performed in four concerts at the festival in June 2024.
She is a répétiteur on the young artist programme at the Wexford Festival Opera 24/25. At this year's festival she worked on Pagliacci by Leoncavello and performed in concerts on the stage of the National Opera House. She was recently principal pianist for the Light Opera Society of Tralee’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar.
