Ryan has also been harmonically well-trained under the YAMAHA method.
Teaching
Ryan has been teaching piano over the past 4 years.
He aims to help his students develop proper playing techniques and coach them in music theory, in order to prepare them for graded exams (RIAM, ABRSM).
On top of that, he is also always happy to teach a variety of genres and focus on pop songs, improvisation, and harmony as he understands each student has their own goals and musical interests.
Teaching students to enjoy music through the process of learning is his top priority.
Performing & Competitions
Ryan has been an active performer with several bands and has appeared in many concerts and gigs over the last few years.
He has worked as a piano accompanist for vocal and instrumental recitals both in his hometown Malaysia and in Ireland recently.
Ryan is now preparing for a solo recital in UCD next year.
Ryan was also one of the finalists of the Malaysian Youth Piano Competition back in 2018.
Besides that, he had been awarded the best accompanist for his high school and was three times the high-scorer of the ABRSM Graded Exams.
