Teaching
Olesya has studied music all of her life.
After graduating from the Ukrainian National Academy of Music in 2008 she had started her professional career in music education working as a piano and vocal instructor at Kyiv School of Arts. Since moving to Dublin in 2011 she taught in Dun Laoghaire School of Music and was involved in numerous national education programs, including Children's Art in Libraries WoMu and Jazz for early years at the National Concert Hall Ireland.
Olesya specialises in teaching piano and voice for children and adults with a focus on technique, reading sheet music, and development of performance skills.
Performance
Olesya works internationally as a professional performer and composer across the fields of contemporary classical, jazz, Latin, traditional and experimental music.
Recent music career highlights include a DEIS award for 'Ceol na n-Uisci' with The Water Project / Iarla Ó Lionáird, an Independent Music Award with Dislocados Salsa Band, performances at GAIA Switzerland with Yurodny Ensemble, London theatre production ‘Remnants’ with Erratica Company, an Asylum Arts award for ‘Fragments of Memory’ multimedia installation, Dun Laoghaire Music Bursary Award and European tours of ‘Niemandsland’ and ‘Telling Sounds’ projects.
She is a founder of UICP (Ukrainian-Irish Cultural Platform) and co-curator of a music and poetry series Phonica in Dublin.
